Instagram is one of the most important platforms for you as a musician. The majority of your fans are active there every day, so it’s also the place where you can pick them up and take them with you.

Especially with a release it is important to exhaust the possibilities on Instagram. Below, we’ll explain which posts you should create and when.

Basically, the following content is needed for a full coverage of Instagram possibilities:

  1. A trailer in reel format (max. 29 seconds long).
  2. A personal announcement with audio sample in post format (max. 29. seconds length)
  3. The cover as a post
  4. A personal announcement in story format
  5. A teaser in story format
  6. A sound sample in story format

Here, we recommend asking a question like „What do you think of the outfit at the very end of the video?“ or „Did you notice that we included a hidden message at the end of the video?“.

With the release, of course, the work on Instagram is not over yet, in fact, it’s just getting started. It’s important in the coming days to keep educating people on Instagram about the new release and to stay very active in other ways as well. We strongly recommend that you don’t fill the Story with reposts only, as you will only get bored as a viewer. There must be plenty of new content in between reposts.

The day after the release, post the trailer as a reel on Instagram. Again, it is very important not to have black borders, but to always adapt the content to the format.
